Auditions in Detroit for Film

Looking for actors and crew for the film, “The Inheritance”. Auditions will be held on June 23rd in Detroit, MI. Shooting is scheduled for late July 2012.

Plot:

When Re the Egyptian father god of all, decides to go on a meditative journey, he leaves his inheritance to his two sons who fight over it and initially threaten the worlds existence.

Casting actors and crew for the horror film, “Captive of a Death Mask”. Shooting is scheduled for this summer, on mostly on weekends in the greater Detroit area.

Plot:

Independent horror film about a group of psychos who drive an innocent man to kill against his will.

  • Single Woman: Woman ages 20-40. Small role.
  • Tony: Male ages 20-35. Wimpy and awkward henchman.
  • Sean: Male ages 25-35. Lead role. Former Navy Seal turned MMA fighter forced to commit unspeakable acts. Big and muscular. MMA/combat experience a plus.
  • Natalie: Female ages 25-35. Sean’s love interest. Casual and attractive girl next door look.
  • Chris: Male 25-35. A psychotic horror freak and evil mastermind.
  • Al: Male 25-40. A twisted technological genius.

Synopsis:

“Volcano Nation is a soap opera with sequel advantages and is about the Lives of all who are effected by being immigrants from the middle east and trying to establish themselves in the US why working and living they watch as all of our characters are at a domino effect of catastrophe.

Available Roles:

  • Layla: (Female, ages 20-25) Beautiful outspoken Pharmacist who is plagued by never ending drama.
  • Khaled: (Male, ages 25-35) Husband of Layla and is part owner of a Pharmaceutical Company.
  • Speaking and Extra Roles: There are many speaking and minor roles available and extras as well.

NOTE: The Arabic language is a major factor, but also have roles that are for English speaking actors.

“The End” Crew Call for Short Film

Makeup Artist & Camera Operator Needed

Gabe Melinn, writer, producer, and director is gearing up to produce a short film, “The End”. They are looking for a makeup artist for 2-3 Saturdays in July and a camera operator for about 4 Saturdays in July. Shooting will take place in Lake Michigan/Grand Haven and Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Plot:

The short film is based on the world’s water being in short supply and one man’s crazy idea that everybody in the United States will be coming to Michigan makes him take up arms to defend his home and water supply.

Available Crew Positions:

  • Makeup Artist (MUA): You will have to be able to make it look like a person is bleeding from the nose and make a person look like they have open sores on their body.
  • Camera Man: Responsible, dependable and open minded to shots. Will work closely with the director. Must be familiar and be able to operate cannon 300 equipment.

Compensation:

You will get lunch and your name in credits.

Backstage is looking for volunteers for their trade show event, Actorfest. Actorfest Detroit will be held on Saturday, May 19TH at the Raleigh Studios Michigan and will feature open casting calls, an information driven exhibit hall, workshops with top industry pros, and meet & drops sessions with top casting directors in the Detroit area.

Volunteers Shifts:

Morning Shift: 7am-2pm
Evening Shift: 1pm-7pm
All Day Shift: 7am-7pm

“Between You & I” Crew Call for Psychological Drama

Crew Call for Feature Length Film

The film “Between You & I” is looking for crew. Shooting for the feature film will take place in several locations around metro Detroit. All the locations will be provided in their production schedule. Shooting is scheduled for the beginning of June and should last over the middle of July. Production will only be 2-3 days a week (one of which will only be a half day). A full production schedule will be provided after actors/actresses have been cast.

Available Crew Positions:

  • Gaffers/Grips: Knowledge in basic lighting, especially in dark/night settings. If the gaffer/grip owns their own lighting kit, the production could use it.
  • Sound/Boom Operator: We have a Rode VideoMic connected directly in the Canon 7D for initial sound, and an H4N Zoom for back-up. A Shotgun Mic and boom pole with the required connections can be extremely helpful if the applicant can provide these materials.

Compensation:

These are not paid positions. Catering, credits, and a demo reel will be provided.

“Living it Up” Web Series Interns and MUA

Living It Up

Aroberson Production is looking for a few interns for the upcoming web-series “Living It Up”. The show is a 12 episode dramatic comedy shooting in Metro Detroit. Interns will be needed for the next few months.

Plot:

“Living it Up” is a dramedy based around the life of Bianca Hicks, a psychology student and Chris Jackson an aspiring actor and model who lives in a society full of friendships and aspirations. Living in a world revolving around actors and models Bianca can only depend on those who are on the same set as her. Chris and Bianca will have to work together in order to survive in the world of talent. Through all the drama, this series is full of love, laughter, friendships, and non stop fun. Living it Up is the future.

Available Crew Positions:

  • Interns: Must have experience working and learning a camera and capable of working or learning a boom.
  • MUA: Make up artist must have you own equipment and must be willing to work long hours.

Compensation:

Intern positions are not paid roles. You will receive a copy of complete season, credit and exposure. Compensation for MUA will be a professional portfolio done by RJP Photography and Graphics.
