  • [PRODUCER] [GENDER: MALE] A late forty-something film Executive Producer who is most certainly the voice of reckoning at Nalon Pictures. The Producer knows what he wants, when he wants it, and why, and he isn’t afraid to be totally blunt.
  • [JASON] [GENDER: MALE] A late thirty-something actor from Nova Scotia who just wants a shot at his next big part. Having gotten his first real taste of stardom, Jason is anxious to audition for his next role, leading to some very surprising turn of events for this character.
  • [JACKSON] [GENDER: MALE] A forty-something crash-and-grab robber who isn’t afraid to bully people into getting what he wants. Jackson is interested in only two things in life: 1. where the next job is going down and 2. where he can grab another bit to eat.
  • [SERGENT JACK] [GENDER: MALE] A forty-something retired Navy Seal who wants to keep his men safe, finds his patience strained when one of his lead detectives goes rouge.

“Pox on Peace” Extras Casting Call

Extras Needed for a World War 1 Film

Cinema Star Productions is looking to cast extras for the short WWI film, “Pox on Peace”. The Shoot will take place on February 23-24, 2013 with a possible second weekend of filming the weekend March 2-3, 2013. Filming will be in Fairgrove, Michigan, about 2 hours north of Detroit.

Plot:

World War 1 film. A British Sergeant and a German Sergeant whom were friends before the war, meet again on the battlefield during the Christmas truce of 1914.

Available Roles:

  • EXTRAS: (Caucasian males, ages 18-45) Extras needed as soldiers to fill the trenches and for background in ‘No man’s land’. As this is a small budgeted film costumes are limited. The extra will need to have a long, wool great coat in colors either Brown (British soldier) or Greenish Gray (German soldier). If you have a WW1 soldier’s costume, even better.

Compensation:

These are paid roles. Talent will be paid $60 a day.

Casting Call for Character-Based Short Film

Casting Male and Female Monster Roles!

This is a character-based short film shooting over the course of two weekends, last two weekends of February, or first two weekends in March in metro Detroit. This project will be shot on RED Epic and/or Scarlet. Both crews are professional and hard-working. Both shoots promise to be fun!

Synopsis:

When a vampire named Von Pyer is fired from his normal retail job, the house no longer has income. Von relies on the help of his friend/roommate Frank Endstein, and his pet Zombie (named Cuddles) to set up a lemonade stand to generate an income so they can maintain their standard of living. Since Von can’t be outside in daylight, he leaves the task to his dumb Frankenstein friend, which creates problems in itself.

Available Roles:

  • Von: A pot-smoking vampire that gets fired from his retail job.
  • Frank: A dumb oaf of a Frankenstein monster, but critical to the houses’s income after Von loses his job.
  • Cuddles: No dialogue, just a funny pet zombie.
  • Store Manager Anthony: He’s a jerk, and he’s the person who fires Von.
  • Customer Woman: only one line of dialogue
  • Clerk: featured extra
  • Lotto Ticket Winner: featured extra
  • Convenience Store Clerk: featured extra

NOTE: Males and Females are encouraged to apply for any of the monster roles, being that it’s featuring monsters, gender is irrelevant. If you’re perfect for the role, you’re perfect for the role. End of story.

Compensation:

No pay, but the Producers and involved crew are well-known people in Michigan’s film industry, definitely good people to be networked with. Also, the project will be a lot of fun!

Casting Extras for Untitled Grand Valley Student Film

Male and Female Extras of All Ages

A Grand Valley State University student short film is being shot around the Grand Rapids area and is in need of several extras! A variety of male and female extras are needed for both Saturday, February 2nd and Saturday, February 9th. We are a fun group of people who love what we do, and we cannot wait to meet you all!

Plot:

The short film is a forty-minute jazz musical film about a boy who aspires to become a trumpet player and receives a mentor, Bud, along the way. Bud is a piano player at a local jazz club. Loretta, a friend of Bud’s, is the singer at the local jazz club. It’s an uplifting story of friendship filled with inspiration meant to elicit a touching and heartfelt impression to the audience watching.

Available Roles:

  • Jazz Club Extras: Saturday February 2nd, we will be shooting scenes at the “jazz club,” so we need ADULT EXTRAS for this day (mid twenties and up). The scene is an upscale club, so fancy and formal attire is a must! We will be shooting in the morning throughout the afternoon. For more information regarding specific times and what is okay and not okay to wear, send an email to contact us.
  • Church Extras: Saturday, February 9th, we will be shooting the “church” scene. We are filming at an actual church and need extras to play churchgoers! We need A LOT of EXTRAS! Filming will take place in the morning and go throughout the afternoon. People of ANY AGE are welcome (except infants). Attire is Sunday Best. Bring your families!

Compensation:

There is NO compensation, but your names will be included in the credits. Snacks and water will also be provided, no lunch, but you are encouraged to pack and bring your own.

Casting actors for the film, “Eternal Torture”. Lead, supporting and extra roles are available. Auditions are being held February 9th and 10th in Troy, MI. Filming starts March 1st, 2013.

Synopsis:

This is a story about a dysfunctional family: a father, a mother, and her two children. The husband is a violent man who viciously beats his wife until one day she decides enough is enough. She escapes the violence, barely with her life. The daughter develops resentment towards her mother for leaving her dad, in spite of the abuse afflicted on her mom. The daughter and father relationship was that of a tight bond.

As a result of the domestic abuse she’s endured, the mother’s feelings for her children have become detach and uncaring as she converts to being the violent abuser. Most of this abuse is directed towards her son as he is to her a constant reminder of his abusive dad—so she releases her pain and anger, which is built up inside her, onto the child. The son does not understand his mother’s anger towards him and so he becomes afraid of her. Now his only comfort and protection from his physical and mental pain is God.

Plot:

Tulkus is producing a 2D/3D web series, “RūN”. There will be an estimated 20 episodes to this series which prequel the feature film. Shooting will take place in Linwood, MI on Saturday Dec. 1st from 7-11pm. This shoot will take place outside by a bonfire. So bringing coats is encouraged and there will be a warm facility very close by.

Plot:

A group of friends decide to prank a Halloween party by talking some partiers into using a talking board to dare a demon to show itself. And one does… A 10 foot tall black demon with glowing red eyes! (There will be a stuntman in a 10 foot tall costume and a paramedic on set)

Available Roles:

  • 20 Party Guests: Ages 18-25, male or female, any size or gender. Person attending a Halloween party. Some will be used as extras and others will receive lines. (must have own costume)

Compensation:

Certain roles will be paid $50-$100, but if you require no payment you will be put on top of the list for consideration.

Plot:

The story is about a young boy Aiden who aspires to become a jazz trumpet player, and ends up learning lessons from a local jazz club musician, Bud. The tale involves their friendship and how the two of them overcome their internal problems of the past through love of music.

  • Calvin: (Male, Caucasian, late 30’s-early 40s): Supporting role. Aiden’s father who prevents his son from achieving his dreams. Can be controlling but mostly still in suffers from his wife leaving.
  • Loretta: (Female, African-American, mid 20s—early 30s): Supporting role. Talented jazz singer who works with Bud at the club. Romantic interest with Bud and sang with Aiden’s mother in the past. Smart, beautiful, and sweet.
  • Extras: Extras needed for Gospel choir, church members, jazz band members, jazz club attendees.

Compensation:

No compensation for project. Food and drinks will be provided on set for talent.

“Forbidden and Unbreakable” Looking for Cast & Crew

“Forbidden and Unbreakable” is in need of cast and crew. Shooting is scheduled for June 2013 to June 2014 in various Metro Detroit locations. Auditions are being held online until December 31, 2012.

Plot:

In the town of New Hope, there is something brewing in the sleepy town. A scientist named Brian E. Greyson is creating a creature which no one has deemed possible. As he puts the final touches on his labor, his lab is raided and the creature is let loose on the world. Forward about two months, the creature, now known by his scientfic name, HC 2.05, has joined up with some previus rejects from the Great Manzinni circus’ sideshow. They survive on their old art of entertaining people and the usual mischief. It’s here that the creature meets his love interest. She is Bethany Anne-Marie DeGraw, the daughter of the local attorney (Anthony DeGraw) of a powerful law firm, VYR Law. After this initial encounter, their lives will be forever intertwined. But, Bethany has a secret, more deadly than the boyfriend she has as she sees HC2.05. She is one of Dr. Greyson earlier, more successful experimentions. She has been trying to hide from that part of her past for the longest of time. She realizes in order for her to love her true love unconditionally, she must love herself first. HC2.05 (later on known as Winston Janis Royce) will help her do just that and in doing so uncover their true feelings for each other that, by it’s very nature, is Forbidden and Unbreakable.

This phase of the movie will be all outside shots during winter weather on a muddy No Man’s Land with wet and cold trenches. Plan to be on-set for four wintry weekends. Some evening/night scenes. These are all speaking roles.

Plot:

Christmas Eve, 1914

The War to End All wars was barely five months old. Almost a million people had been killed or wounded. Millions of brave men, mostly clueless pawns, joined up and marched out to kill each other for God and Country; just like their fathers before them and many generations to follow. By the end of this senseless slaughter a whole generation of men had been lost. One memorable event survived this debacle.

It happened like this. . .

Suddenly, a disease, the Peace Pox, broke out infecting both friend and foe. More virulent than small pox, the Peace Pox lasted just a few hours. Those infected were unwilling to fight during the course of the disease. Despite the best efforts of the generals, the Peace Pox spread along the Western Front, sparing few. Eventually, the generals were able to eliminate the Peace Pox and develop an effective inoculation regimen.

POX is the story of a few soldiers, British and German, who were affected most by the Peace Pox and suffered most from the cure. Join the Queen’s Own Rifles and the Saxons as they challenge each other to live while others plot their death.
