Eightoneoh Films Casting for Short Film

Eightoneoh Films is casting two actors for the short film, “Your Guardian Angel”. Shooting is scheduled for August 29 to September 2 in Imlay City, Michigan.

Synopsis:

A young teen, Brie, struggles between her addiction and leading a normal high school life. With her parents constantly absent, she has no one to rely on aside from her only and longest friend, Oliver. It seems not even their seemingly unrequited feelings for one another can get her to kick her habits, and it may cost her the ultimate price.

Available Roles:

  • Brie: A young, slender, brunette. 18 years of age. Has a drug addiction.
  • Oliver: Darker hair, wiry-muscled. 18 years of age. Temperamental, but caring. He is Brie’s “Companion.”

Compensation:

Meals, lodging, and payment for fuel will be provided by the producers.

“Papou” Casting Call for Independent Feature Length Film

Mother and Midwife Pictures Casting

Mother and Midwife Pictures is casting for the independent feature length film, “Papou”. An exact date and location are still be determined for auditions. Shooting is scheduled for July 8th through August 3rd in Southeast Michigan.

Synopsis:

The film’s title, “Papou”, is the Greek word for Grandfather. This is an independent, feature length, family film about the wonderful relationship between a spirited grandpa, Archie, and his equally spirited and highly imaginative grandson, Demetri (age 9). When Archie is diagnosed with cancer, he struggles to explain this to his grandson. The story is about living life and coming to terms with death, all from the perspective of a child.

Audition Roles:

  • Archie: Early 80’s, actor must speak fluent Greek. Thin, youthful-looking, most or all of his hair remains. Archie is a man from the “old country”. He is traditional, strong-willed, and sometimes even bull-headed. However, every ounce of his being he spends on his family and in particular, his grandson Demetri. Archie has the strength and energy of a man half his age; his disbelief that his terminal illness will kill him fades as his once vigorous lifestyle slowly falls by the wayside.
  • Kari: Early 70’s, actress must speak fluent Greek. Archie’s wife. Pretty and full of life even in her old age, Kari’s love for her family is equaled only by Archie. The news of Archie’s illness causes her to go into a state of denial, horror, and depression in a relatively short time. Kari believed she would have Archie around forever but the new development causes her world to crash down upon her with incredible speed.

Compensation:

We are signed with SAG. We will offer the rate according to their agreement, as well as provide on set meals. We will also cover travel and lodging.

Casting for 30 Minute Short Film, “Message”

Lead Actress Casting Call

Casting a lead actress for the 30 minute short film, “Message”. Shoot dates are scheduled for March 8 (evening), March 9 (all day) & March 10 (all day). Shooting will take place in Rochester Hills, MI. Rehearsals to begin in mid-February (on location).

“Message” is part of an ongoing anthology (inspired by The Twilight Zone) that is soon to be released later this year. It will be shown as a stand-alone film on the film festival circuit, as well as part of the new anthology involving the supernatural happenings within the fictional Shaker County. “Kill Me Again” was the first film completed for the anthology, and is currently on the festival circuit.

Plot:

[Dramatic character study with a supernatural undertone]

Eric and Samantha Millar find themselves having to come to terms with the loss of their daughter. Since her passing, they have begun to slowly drift apart from each other, both dealing with the loss in their own way… Eric for the better, Samantha for the worst. Then one day, Samantha receives a message… one that changes everything.

Available Roles:

  • Lead Actress (Samantha ‘Sam’ Millar): Age 30-35. A saddened and distraught house wife dealing with the loss of her daughter and failing marriage. The role is very emotionally demanding.

“Don’t Wait Til Dawn” Casting Call for Feature Film

Lyon Productions, the motion picture company which produced such feature films as Minor League, Little Creeps, and Monsters on Main Street is holding a casting call for the feature film “Don’t Wait Til Dawn.” The Open casting Call, held in a cold read format, is open to everyone to attend regardless of experience. Principal photography is slated to begin late March here in Michigan.

Synopsis:

When someone is murdered in his town, the local sheriff sets up road blocks and holds everyone passing through overnight for questioning. As everyone is gathered together, it soon becomes evident that one of them may be the killer and as fingers start to point and tension begins to boil over everyone learns that may not be their only problem in a town that’s hiding a secret of its own.

  • SANDY: Female, late 20’s to 40’s, a waitress that wasn’t always from the small town she lives in now and hasn’t got rid of all her southern charms.
  • WALT: Male, 50’s to 60’s, hard and gruff he’s never one to hide what he’s thinking regardless if its appropriate or not.
  • STARLA: Female, 20’s to 30’s, Attractive woman who is trying to become a professional hip hop dancer as a way out of having been a former exotic dancer.
  • SHERIFF CARTER: Male, 40’s to 50’s, Tough, mean, and finds a pleasure in being both. He runs his town with an iron first.
  • DEPUTY DANIELS: Male, 30’s, a new deputy on the force who is trying to get past being to much of a nice guy and forgets he’s an authority figure at times.
  • ELAZABETH: Female – late 20’s to late 30’s, beautiful, sophisticated and elegant, she is the owner of the hotel everyone is forced to stay at. She has a sexual flair to her that is very alluring for everyone, male and female alike.
  • SIMON: Male, 30’s to 50’s, a loyal employee of the hotel whom has served Elazabeth for seemingly more years than she is old.

Casting actors for an untitled short film about US taxes. Filming will take place in the Sterling Heights area of Metro Detroit in February/March.

Plot:

The year is 2019 and the federal government of The United States has created a division underneath the IRS to eliminate people who do not pay their taxes. This is a short film that follows a hit-man as he carries out his assignments.

Audition Roles:

  • Intended Targets: Two men in their 20’s or 30’s with a rough look to portray the intended targets.
  • Federal Agent: One man in his 30’s or 40’s to portray federal agent who will meet with the main character to deliver dossier.

Auditions for Male and Female Actors

Casting actresses and one actor for the short film,”Creative Mind”. Auditions are likely to be held February 10th in the Highland Park, MI area.

Plot:

When Peter, a well-established romance writer gets a group of strange and angry women harassing him at his book signings, he takes little notice. However, when Peter begins writing his new book, a psychological thriller, his writings and his life starts to get a little strange. Are they vivid dreams, or has his life become cursed? Or is he writing his own destiny, for better and for worse?

Audition Roles:

  • 5 Women: (age 18-35) Five women will be needed, one for each point of the inverted pentagram. At least one of the five women cast needs to be comfortable with being on top of the male actor, in the middle of the pentagram. There will be no nudity, it’s only for crossing the ideas of the writer writing his own blessings versus his own curse. No lines of dialogue spoke. Women will be dancing around an inverted pentagram, so if you hold any religious beliefs against what will look like using witchcraft to curse a book/human, please don’t apply. It’s only for the movie.
  • 1 Male: (age 18-35)

Synopsis:

“Burn Through” is a semi-dark drama following the desperate attempts of a struggling artist (Roger) to get a painting out of his head onto the canvas. What makes this special, is that Roger believes the painting has something to do with the future; and not in a good way. He begins to shut himself off from (Christine), the one person he cares about.

We are casting for a short action pack drama called “Red Handle” written by Elizabeth Kauffman. Director Mike Ludema. This production is going through Compass College of Cinematic Arts. This short is volunteered based. Shooting dates are March 15, 16, 17.

Plot:

When two brothers in the secret service are pursued by enemy agents must fight to keep possession of a red handled briefcase that their authorities deem to be of utmost importance. But as the opposing forces close in, both brothers must come to grips with their own answer to the question: “Is duty worth the price of your own life?”

  • Samuel Sheene: Male. Mid-20ʼs. A responsible and stoic type. Works undercover for the secret service. Working as a team with his brother Joseph, he keeps the both of them on track and out of trouble.
  • Joseph Sheene: Male. Early to mid 20ʼs. Also works undercover for the secret service as a team with his brother Samuel. He provides the braun and spontaneity of the team. He questions whether what they do is really worth it.
  • Agent 1: Male or Female. Late 20ʼs to mid 30ʼs. Works undercover for the other side. A firm and honorable leader for the agents under him.
  • Agent 2: Male or Female. Late 20ʼs to mid 30ʼs. Works undercover for the other side as Agent 1ʼs right hand man.
  • Agent 3: Male or Female. Late 20ʼs to mid 30ʼs. Works undercover for the other side. Follows up the business of Agent 1 and 2 to make sure their orders are carried out.
  • Agent 4-7: Male or Female. Between early 20ʻs to early 40ʻs. Agents working undercover for the other side.
  • Little Girl: Male or Female. 4 to 6 years old. A friendly girl out for a trip with her parents aboard the train. Carries a prized red balloon that her parents just bought her.
  • Waitress: Male or Female. Early to late 20ʼs. A pretty young woman working as a waitress in the train dining car.
  • Bartender: Male or Female. Middle aged. Works as a bartender on the train.
  • Security Guard: Male or Female. Late 20ʼs. A brave security guard on the train who confronts the attacking agents.
  • Man: Male or Female. Mid-20ʻs to mid 30ʼs. A man working undercover for the secret service. He passes the red handled briefcase off to Samuel and Joseph.
  • Porter: Middle aged. Works as a porter for the train.
  • Older Man (with camera): Mid-60ʼs to 80ʼs. A tourist riding the train with his wife.
  • Older Manʼs Wife: Mid-60ʼs to 80ʼs. Wife of the older man with the camera.
  • Mother: Mid-20ʼs to late 30ʼs. Mother of the little girl.
  • Father: Mid-20ʼs to late 30ʼs. Father of the little girl.
  • Elderly Man: Gets shot in the head by the agents.
  • Security Guard 2: Middle aged. Tries to get the agents to stop but is killed.
  • Extras: Passengers (10-20) – People at train station (5-10)

Compensation:

No pay. Travel expenses and accommodations will NOT be provided, but will receive good food on-set, great experience to put on your reel & resume. DVD’s will be given upon request.

“Begin the Beguine” Casting Call for Stylized Music Video

University of Michigan Museum of Art Casting

University of Michigan Museum of Art is seeking two actors for a stylized music video to be shot in the beginning of March, 2013 in Ann Arbor. Improvisation skills and the ability to exaggerate while sustaining a sense of believability is required. Must be able to take direction, express physically without words, and maintain a sense of humor. This short film is for the non-profit art museum and will be on permanent exhibit both inside the museum and online on their website. Shooting will take a total of 8 hours maximum.

Plot:

A shackled young woman sees through the eyes of a bird puppet a stylized parlor scene of awkward dancers, who attempt to dance to swing dance music while making intense eye contact with each other. Shots will be inter-cut with a music video of big band-style musicians performing the song.

Available Roles:

  • Woman: Mid 20’s-40’s. Voluptuous, sexy , spends her time stealing war veteran’s money after pleasing them with her body.
  • Man: Mid 30’s-50’s. War veteran, rugged, has a stump leg, fatigued from the war but full of sexual desire.

Compensation:

There is no monetary compensation for this project, however travel costs will be covered and food provided if needed.
