“Incoming Tempt”, a Compass College of Cinematic Arts student film will be shooting March 5-7. They are looking to cast 2 actors and 1 actress.

Plot Summary:

Eric is an office worker drone whose life is boring except for his daily coffee break with Renee, the cute secretary who has just asked him out for drinks. Only one problem, he’s married and his conscience, a cartoon like angel on his shoulder named Ted, is terrible at keeping Eric away from temptation. It’s only with the help of Ted’s rival, a devil named Dale, that he will be able to save his job and keep drinks with Renee from turning into more. Produced and written by Michael McDonald and directed by Seth Stoltenow.

Available Roles:

  • Eric / Ted / Dale: (Male, late 20s-early 30s) Office worker beaten down by a drone like existence. He has a very vivid good and bad side. Actor must be comfortable playing multiple roles.
  • Renee: (Female, 20s) Attractive secretary who likes Eric and wants to ask him out. She’s a little shy but isn’t going to wait to be asked out when she knows what she wants.
  • Hank: (Male, late 30s) Office manager who is frustrated by the incompetence of those below him.

Plot:

Jim helps George and Douglas, his son and stepson, clean out his ex-wife Clara’s, house after her death. While wandering around the house, Jim finds a photograph of George and himself. At George’s 8th birthday he remembers this day as, after an argument with Mary Anne, Clara’s mother, and Clara, his ex-wife tried to take his son away from him.

Available Roles:

  • JIM (Past): Early 30′s, Caucasian male, average height, husky build, short dark hair. Construction worker. Quick to anger, but loves his son.
  • JIM (Present): Mid 50′s, Caucasian male, salt and pepper hair. Retired EMT. A reserved and proud man, but emotional about his ex-wife’s death.
  • CLARA (Past): Early 30′s, Caucasian female, short height, beautiful flowing long brown hair. Substitute teacher. Two months pregnant. Tolerant and civil, but has her limits.
  • GARY (Past): Early 30′s, Caucasian male, tall and athletic, brown hair, clean cut. History teacher. Marathon runner. Polite and oblivious.
  • GEORGE (Past): 8-10yrs old, short, skinny, shaggy brown hair. Very bright and happy boy.
  • MARY ANNE (Past): Late 50′s early 60′s, short height, wavy grey hair. Sarcastic and cynical, but with good intentions.
  • DOUGLAS: Early 20′s, tall, athletic build, short brown hair. Advertising intern. Soft spoken, emotionally aware.
  • GEORGE (Present): Early 30′s, Caucasian male, tall, lean build, clean cut, short brown hair. Accountant. Caring, worries about Jim.
  • EXTRAS: Children Extras needed for a birthday scene.

Compensation:

There is no pay but a copy of the film will be provided on completion and food on set will be provided.

  • Blade & Buffy: Looking for as close of a look a like as we can for both.(or any other well known vampire slaying character you think you have a costume for.) Plot:

“Mole” is a short student film about 3 men who have retreated to there safe house after pulling off a series of risky heists. After settling in, The leader of the group gets a call from their boss stating that the FBI have tailed them and above all, they have a Mole working for them. As time runs short and the packing process begins, they begin to realize that trust has become an issue and not everyone is as honest as they seem.

Available Roles:

  • Jack: A young man in his mid to late 20s. Jack is the leader of this group and looks like a leader off the bat.
  • Nick: Nick is the muscle of the group. He’s a hot head who likes to think for himself and questions Jack’s leadership. (Nick can be anywhere from mid 20′s to mid 30′s or at least look like it.)
  • Danny: Danny is the equipment expert of the group and is a little mousy. He’s nervous under pressure but will follow Jack’s leadership out of sheer respect. Danny can be early 20′s (Or at least look it).
  • The Boss (Voice part only): The Boss is simply referred to as “The Boss”. He is the head of the little group of thugs and will be keeping in touch with Jack via cellphone. For this role, we will be needing a deep Voice. This role could be anyone who thinks they can pull it off.

Cast and Crew Needed for Short Horror/Slasher Film

Film Crew and Talent Needed for “PARKED” (updated)

Looking for cast and crew for the short horror/slasher film, “Parked”. Shoot date is a tentative late March, early April in the Grand Rapids area.

Available Crew Positions:

  • CAMERA OPERATOR: Must know how to use a camera and set up shots.
  • EDITOR: Must have editing software and have experience in editing films.
  • BOOM OPERATOR/SOUND RECORDER: Experience in sound recording a must.
  • PROPS./MAKEUP: Person will be in charge and responsible for all props on set. Also need someone who has some experience in basic makeup effects (blood, dirt, scratches, etc.).
  • LIGHTING CREW: Must have experience in lighting night shots in the horror/suspense tradition. Must have own lighting equipment and lights.
  • MUSIC COMPOSER: Person needed to record a score for the short film. Must have some experience in this field.

NOTE: I prefer student filmmakers for this project, must have a valid student ID. (If not a student, no problem) But must live in or around the Grand Rapids area.

Available Roles:

  • BOBBY: (age 23) Bobby is in love with Jennifer and wants to propose to her. On their way to a party, Bobby decides to pull off the road and propose to Jennifer. Little does he know, he’s about to be thrown into a night of terror. Requirements for role. Must be physically in good shape. The role requires some physical stunt work.
  • JENNIFER: (Role has been cast) (age 20) Jennifer is a beautiful young woman. She is a virgin and is saving herself for the right one. She thought it was Bobby. Jennifer isn’t sure anymore. She recently got accepted to a college she applied for and now has to make a decision between love and her dreams. Requirement for role. Must be physically attractive. Jennifer is shy and reserved. The role will require some minor stunt work and requires the actress to be covered in blood.
  • WOMAN/VICTIM: (age 20′s) Attractive female stalked down and killed by the killer.
  • KILLER/FIGURE: (age unknown) The killer is a tall and imposing figure. The requirements for the role are, must be able to have a intimidating presence on screen. Must be over six feet tall and built.

NOTE: Actors interested in the roles must live in or around the Grand Rapids area.

Compensation:

This is a non paying project. However, payment may occur if budget allows. All actors will be recast in a feature length film based on the short, if and when it get’s produced. The short film will be submitted to film festivals in hopes of gaining investors for the feature. Full credit and a copy of the finished film will be given to all involved with the project. Food will be provided on set.

M-agination Films is casting principal and featured actors for the 35 minute short film “Projection.” Actors will be needed on various dates between May 14 and May 28 in Southeast Michigan.

Synopsis:

This dark, complex psychological thriller tells the story of a young woman who has long struggled to conceal a past traumatic event from her loved ones, but must relive it when the movie she attends violently comes to life, recreating the past and teaching her an important lesson. While the film’s main theme is overcoming fears, it also deals with the universal emotions of loneliness and learning one’s self-worth.

Available Roles:

  • ABIGAIL COOPER: Will play the main role of a distraught, damaged young woman, aged 19-26, whose looming trip to New York City sparks memories of a traumatic past event. Through the reflection of a movie screen, Abbie is forced to confront her demons head on and learn that the past doesn’t control her future.
  • TONY DOMINIC: Will play Abigail’s boyfriend, aged 21-30. As described in the script, he carries himself with “Dorian Grey charm: a suave exterior and a touch of detached, paternal contempt in his voice.” Obsessed with outward appearances, his three-year relationship with Abigail has dissolved into abuse and condescension.
  • KATHERINE HECKER: Will play Abigail’s spunky, no-nonsense roommate, aged 19-26, who works as an entertainment columnist at the local newspaper. With only good will towards Abbie, Kate spends the majority of the film trying to emotionally support her roommate.
  • FRANK LAMBERT: Will play the nerdy, lonely projectionist at the movie theater. Aged 19-30, Frank wanted to pursue a career in photography, but a fear of failure held him back. Instead, he hides in the projection room to escape from the world and its disappointments.
  • GUNMAN 1: Will play the suave, career-oriented gunman who’s been hired by the mob to interrogate Abigail about her past. Aged 40-60, his obsession with professional excellence is accentuated in his advanced vocabulary and educated philosophies.
  • GUNMAN 2: Will play the novice accomplice of Gunman 1. Aged 30-40, his inexperience and lack of emotional detachment cause a great deal of insecurity and internal conflict as to whether he wants to pursue the lifestyle of a hitman.
  • EDNA WASHINGTON: Will play an older female moviegoer, aged 45-65. Supporting character.
  • USHER: Will play the theater usher, aged 20-40. Supporting character.
  • HOTEL CLERK: Will play a hotel clerk, aged 25-45. Supporting character.

Compensation:

While these are not paid positions, expect to have a great experience with a talented crew that is motivated to tell a compelling story. The film will be shown at many venues, especially film festivals. Also, all actors involved in the project will get DVDs of the film and an on-screen credit, of course.

However, his structured life is shaken upside down when his roommate’s messy and wild cousin, Jess, comes to live with them to heal from an addiction. Jess’s dark past and prying nature clash with Clarence’s ordered existence, and challenge him to overcome his fears and give dating one more shot.

  • Clarence: Male. 20s. Very rigid, structured, terribly afraid of germs, obsessive-compulsive, believes that his strange behavior prevents him from being “date-able.” He later realizes that sometimes he can put people before his “condition,” when he rescues Jess from an alcoholic relapse at a drunken party.
  • Jess: Female. 20s/early 30s. Wild, attractive, a hot mess, recovering alcoholic and drug addict, “easy” around most guys, intrusive, but has a good heart inside. Succumbing to her dark past, she has a drinking relapse, but still pushes Clarence to get back out into the dating world.
  • Shane: Male. 20s. Clarence’s roommate and Jess’s cousin. Kind, generally happy, usually considerate of Clarence. He takes a trip to a conference, leaving Clarence alone with Jess.
  • Scott: Male. 20s/early 30s. A jerk, disrespectful, mistreats and exploits Jess, uses her to satisfy his lust but doesn’t really care about her, a drinker, and wild.
  • Alana: Female. 20s. A friend of Jess’s friend. Jess matches her up with Clarence. She is smart, cute, understanding, and intuitive. She helps resolve the story as Clarence’s dating interest.
  • Partygoers: 8-15 extras. 20s/early 30s. Any sex.
  • Restaurant Customers: 7-10 extras. Any age. Any sex.

Available Roles:

  • Cecil: A 50-60 year old man, white, whose alcohol addiction has destroyed his family and forced him onto the streets. Cecil must be able to display quiet emotions through his eyes as he expresses his frustration with his inability to kick his addiction and his guilt over killing his family in a car crash.
  • Mary: The wife of Cecil, 30s, who will be seen in flashbacks during the moments of happiness and frustration in their marriage.
  • Kate: Cecil’s daughter. Between the ages of 7 and 10. like Mary, she will be seen in Cecil’s memories of times with his family.
  • Extras: Passerbys on the street, dressed in casual clothes or business attire, Between the ages of 20 and 60. A male and a female of relatively same age to play a couple walking down the street. Age/Race not important. A clothing store clerk. Age/Race not important. A barber. Age/race not important.

NOTE: Most of the Extra roles are interchangeable and will only require a few days of shooting. Cecil, however will need to be available for all production days, which are all on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Compensation:

These are all unpaid roles, but all actors involved will receive a final cut of the movie that they will be able to use in their demo reels.
