Will Shoot for Credit Program
Local filmmaker based out of the Lansing/Jackson area is directing a film through Spring Arbor University’s Will Shoot For Credit program. They have produced a number of award-winning short films through this program. The film is titled Sassy Women and will be shooting April 1st in Jackson, MI.
Ellen is a wealthy and refined older woman who lives in her inherited grand-daddy’s large farm-style house. Callie is a wild, bartender girl in her late twenties who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. She rents a room from Ellen. Both are southern, opinionated, and above all – sassy.
- Ellen Arrington – Age 55+, African American Woman
Ellen is southern, so try a southern accent. She is wealthy and accomplished and does the right thing. She sees that Callie is a very talented woman and wants to give her a chance in life. She also knows that Callie is too scared to take a chance when she sees one. She sees the similarities between the two of them more than Callie does. Finally, Ellen never misses a trick; she is smart, sarcastic, and can keep up with Callie’s witticisms.
