Twisted Tales Of Terror Auditions – Ypsilanti Youth Theatre (Ypsilanti, MI)

TWISTED TALES OF TERROR

by Jeanine Harvey

Yes, it’s a comedy—several comedies, in fact: We revisit the grand, old horror stories of Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Mummy, and Three Witches; and give these tales a comical going-over.

This cast of young actors will play, variously:

The Storyteller Lady-Ghoul
Igor (you know, Igor)
4 Vampires
2 Victims (of vamping)
Dr. Van Helsing (the stake guy)
Doctor Frankenstein
The Girl Monster
The Boy Monster
3 Werewolves
2 More Werewolves!
A Murderous Neighbor (with pork chops)
Dr. Jekyll (smart/geeky)
Mr. Hyde (handsome but violent)
Mary Reilly (his Maid/admirer)
He-Mummy
She-Mummy
3 Witches
Evil Politician
His Shopaholic Wife
AND Ancient Egyptian Guards, Medieval French Wedding Folk, Cowboys, Club Dancers, and a pack of Zombies.

This play has lines of some kind for almost everybody, a couple of dance numbers, lots of cobwebs, two “Mad Scientist Laboratories,” one FABULOUS nightclub. Real fun set & costumes!

Twisted Tales of Terror is a new play, premiered only three years ago right here in Michigan!
