Actor Auditions for “The Killers”
“The Killers” is a film based off of Ernest Hemingway’s short story of the same name. It follows a waiter as he is confronted by two gunmen while working. Questions of nobility, honor and hubris are all brought up in this compelling tale.
The film will be shot in the Ann Arbor Area. The exact time for the roles will be determined in the next week, but we are planning on shooting the weekend of March 19-20 and primarily in the evenings.
- AL: Al is a cocky, self-indulgent criminal who, along with Max, takes control of the restaurant. Looking for an actor between 25-40 who can portray someone in the mob.
- MAX: Max is a gangster-type character with a short fuse. Along with Al, he takes over the restaurant Nick (main character) is working at. Looking for an actor between 25-40.
- GEORGE: The main character of the film, George is a quiet, reserved young waiter who is thrown into a desperate situation as his restaurant is taken hostage. Looking for an actor between 19-25.
Auditions will be held this Saturday, March 12th from 12:00pm – 3:00pm in downtown Ann Arbor. If you plan on coming to the audition, please e-mail us and we will reply with the address. Also, scripts will be provided to read from.
This film is a low-budget project, so the job will be unpaid, but expect to have a great experience with a talented crew that are motivated to tell a compelling story. The film is planned to be shown at many venues, including the M-agination Film Festival in April. Also, all actors involved in the project will get DVDs of the film and an on-screen credit.
