“The Benchwarmer” Casting Call for Actors

Casting for New Short Comedy Film

Compass College of Cinematic Arts

Students of Compass College of Cinematic Arts are casting a new short comedy with the working title “The Benchwarmer”. Production will take place on November 3rd and 4th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The film will be produced by Jacob Ransom, is written by Heidi Gray, and directed by Carlos Castrillion.

Plot:

The film is a slapstick comedy about a dorky young man, David, who does some pretty crazy stunts in order to win the girl of his dreams.

Thursday, October 25th from 5:30pm until 9:00pm

Available Roles:

  • David: (lead) Male, 20s – a lovable loser; tries to be impressive, but is really quite bumbling; has to be comfortable with performing physical slapstick comedy
  • Christina: (supporting) Female, early to mid-20s – David’s love interest, sweet, but completely oblivious to him because she is deaf.
  • Michelle: (supporting) Female, 18-28 – Christina’s best friend, a trustworthy companion, but cautious of new people

Compensation:

This is not a paid gig. Travel expenses and accommodations will not be provided. Talent will be fed on set.
