Compass College of Cinematic Arts is casting a new short comedy with the working title “Peter the Spy”. Open auditions will be held at Compass College. Production will take place on October 22 and 23 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The film will be produced by Tom Greenberg and written & directed by Joshua Courtade.


The film is a slapstick farce about a dopey filmgoer named Peter whose dreams of living out the adventurous life of a movie spy come true when he is asked by a beautiful femme fatale to save her from enemy agents at a movie theater.

Thursday, September 27th from 5:30pm until 9:00pm
Saturday, September 29th from 1:30pm until 5:00pm

Available Roles:

  • Peter: (lead) Male, 20s – a lovable loser; tries to be impressive, but is really quite bumbling; has to be comfortable with performing physical slapstick comedy
  • Claudia: (supporting) Female, early to mid-20s – works the concession stand; sweet, but covers it up with deadpan delivery
  • The Woman: (supporting) Female, mid-20s to early 30s – a classic femme fatale; mysterious and seductive
  • Agents 1 and 2: (supporting) Males, 20s-40s – classic tough guy spies
  • Sleeping Man: (bit) Male, 20s-30s – a man who sleeps through the movie; should be capable of comedic movement
  • Girlfriend: (bit) Female, 20s-30s – the Sleeping Man’s girlfriend; oblivious at time, but prone to harsh reactions


Pay will be $50 per day on set and $25 per half-day on set. Travel expenses and accommodations will not be provided. Talent will be fed on set.
