“Miss Iron River” Casting Call for Short Film (Ann Arbor, MI)

“Miss Iron River” Auditions

Auditions are being held for the upcoming short film, “Miss Iron River”. The film will be shot in the Saline, MI area. The exact times for all three roles will be determined in the next week, but expect to work on the weekends of March 12-13, March 19-20 and March 26-27 and primarily in the evenings.


“Miss Iron River” is a short film being produced in Ann Arbor about “a reserved young man who must solve his close friend’s murder while delving into the moral ambiguities of the rural town he lives in.”

Audition Details:

Auditions will be held this Sunday, February 20 from 1-4 PM. Please bring your resume to the audition. Scripts will be provided to read from.

Available Roles:

  • DETECTIVE PETER WILSON: Detective Peter Wilson is a cocky, self-motivated figure who is the uncle of the main character in the film. Looking for an actor that can portray someone in their early-late 40s and is white.
  • EVAN PICKFORD: Evan is a quiet, loving man who is the father of the murdered girl in the town. The role includes a lot of intense scenes. Looking for an actor that can portray someone who’s late 40s-early 50s and is white.
  • MARJORY PICKFORD: Marjory is the mother of the girl who is murdered in the town. She is a very loving and nurturing woman. Looking for an actress that can portray someone in their late 40s-early 50s and is white.


This film is a low-budget project, so the job will be an unpaid, but expect to have a great experience with a talented crew that are motivated to tell a compelling story. The film is planned to be shown at many venues, including the Lightworks Film Festival. Also, all actors involved in the project will get DVDs of the film and an on-screen credit.
