You MUST BE between the age of 6 & 19 on January 1, 2010 to be cast in this production.

About The Production Spring Main Stage Production Disney’s Geppetto and Son Two Acts, Book Musical, Rated G The classic tale of an aging toymaker and his puppet, Pinocchio, takes on timely issues in Disney’s Gepetto & Son. Grammy Award-winner and master melodist Stephen Schwartz adds a compelling score of original songs to the beloved classics “When You Wish Upon a Star” and “I’ve Got No Strings.” Join the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and a lively cast of characters as Geppetto journeys beyond the Toy Shop to discover what makes the “perfect child.” This family-friendly musical is appropriate for all audiences and is a magical mix of heartwarming fairytale and action-packed adventure. Audiences will love following Pinocchio’s journey from an awkward wooden puppet to a real, live boy and will be charmed by Geppetto’s transformation from demanding creator to a real, live father.

Character Breakdown:

* Blue Fairy – a “Galinda-from-Wicked-type”
* Geppetto – wants a son but doesm’t know how to be a parent
* Pinocchio – learning about the world; runs away from home
* Stromboli – the villain who wants Pinocchio to star in his shows; a “Pirelli-from-Sweeney Todd- type” [sings in 3 songs]
* Buonragazzo – an inventor who manufactures perfect children
* Ringleader – encourages children to misbehave at Pleasure Island
* Bernardo – parent who buys a perfect, manufactured child
* Maria – married to Bernardo, comes to Buonragazzo for a perfect child
* Junior – mini-Buonragazzo; child-inventor
* Talia – perfect, manufactured child; Shirley Temple-type
* Mrs. Giovanni – Pinocchio’s schoolteacher
* Children – spoiled & want toys // they are perfect-robotic children
* Parents – don’t know how to handle their children
* Automatons – parts of time machine
* Marionettes – work in Stromboli’s show
* Delinquents – reek havoc at Pleasure Island; they turn into donkeys
* Animals – they try to be something that they are not
* Roustabouts – workers at Pleasure Island; encourage children to misbehave
* Ensemble (the actors will double in multiple roles): This is a LARGE chorus show.
