Casting Call for Short Film
The fairytale/science fiction short, Arbor Day, is looking to cast a male actor between the ages of 30 and 45. The story revolves around a boy, a family secret, and a monster buried under a tree. Applicants must be able to shoot the weekend of April 28th and 29th and attend one rehearsal before then. The film will be shot in Charlotte, MI (30 minutes south of Lansing) but auditions/ rehearsals can be held in either Detroit or Charlotte.
- Uncle: (Aged 30-40′s) A wild and charismatic man. The Uncle’s risk taking tendencies lead to two things. One, to a certain degree, the Boy’s father and mother’s death. Two, the family secret should have been entrusted to the Uncle but was instead given to his younger brother. (the latter is the reason the Grandfather and Uncle argue in the kitchen). The part requires a considerable amount of time spent in SFX make-up.
This is a non-paid gig. Though low-budget there will be a professional set (most of the cast and crew do this for a living on big budget films.)
