Film Crew Training – Educational Standards
One of the goals of the Michigan Film Office has been to create and put in place educational competencies for all entities planning to offer training to develop new Michigan crew for the growing film industry. In the past several months, thanks to partnerships with the Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth, IATSE, the Teamsters and the MFO Advisory Council’s Workforce Development committee, they have created a set of Competencies.
The purpose of these competencies is to define a measure of the knowledge and capabilities expected of a graduate receiving a degree or certificate from a school teaching film production. We expect the schools will develop curriculums and procure instructors that will meet the standards.
