Set, Lighting, Hair, Make-up, Stage and Production!

New Harlem Renaissance Productions, L.L.C. is a newly founded production company whose vision is to showcase the talents of local actors/actresses, writers, directors, producers, etc. in the mediums of film and theatre.

We are currently in pre-production for a stageplay: CONTEMPT written by published author and playwrite, Malcolm X. Johnson. This will be the first of many productions which will be used to showcase the talents of emerging local writers and actors/actresses. As this is our first production, we are operating on a very low budget, but will provide some type of compensation. These are contract positions, with the potential for permanent employment within the company. We are currently in search of experienced persons to fill the following positions (student with film or theatre majors are encouraged to apply):

Producer(s)
Stage Manager
Hair/Make-Up Artist
Stage Hands
Lighting Director
Set Designer(s)

Must have some experience and meet these minimum requirements: Professional, Punctual, Committed, Hard-Working, Willingness to learn, and must have a passion for film and/or theatre. PLEASE NO ACTORS/ACTRESSES. Casting will be announced in the near future.

We are shooting a short film in Ann Arbor tentatively in April. We are seeking an experienced make-up artist for film. There are only 2 main characters and 1 featured extra. Shooting includes indoor and outdoor locations.

Moore’s Take on Making Movies in Michigan

Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Falllon, Michael Moore was a guest. In additon to promoting his recent film “Capitalism: A Love Story”, Moore gave a heart felt speach pushing Michigan filmmaking. Moore lives in northern part of the state, and during his interview truly demonstrates his passion for the State of Michigan and local filmmaking.
